Job summary

ChristianaCare is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in the Cardiac Surgery Professional Services in Newark, Delaware. This full-time step-down role supports comprehensive care across the continuum, including pre-operative assessments, post-operative step-down management, and daily rounding with eight 10-hour shifts every two weeks, rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be certified or eligible for NCCPA or ANCC
• One year of cardiac surgery experience preferred
• Must possess prescriptive authority and DEA registration or eligible in Delaware
• ACLS certification required
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Delaware

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for cardiac surgery patients across the continuum of care
• Perform pre-operative assessments and post-operative step-down management
• Daily rounding and progress documentation
• Complete daily progress notes and discharge planning
• Perform bedside procedures (chest tube removal, pacing wire removal)
