Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a dynamic Physician Assistant to join the busy Cardiac Surgery team. Under the direction of a cardiothoracic surgeon, you will perform first assisting, preoperative assessments, and postoperative care in an outpatient setting.

This role requires CT licensure, PA certification, and 2+ years in cardiovascular procedures; new grads considered. Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for mentorship are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master’s program.
• Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut.
• Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant.
• 2+ years’ experience in cardiovascular surgery preferred - open to hire the right new grad
• First assistant experience, including endoscopic vein harvesting skills preferred

Responsibilities

• First assisting cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Preoperative history and physical examination.
• Postoperative care in an outpatient clinical setting and patient education.
• Endoscopic vein harvesting skills preferred
