Job summary

Allina Health Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant to join the practice at Abbott Northwestern Hospital (Minneapolis) and United Hospital (St. Paul).

This is a 1.0 FTE, 40-hour-per-week role with 10-hour shifts spanning day, evening, and night periods. The PA will provide inpatient and outpatient care, complete comprehensive assessments, and collaborate with physicians and the health care team to ensure high-quality cardiac care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Experience in Critical Care required.

Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
• Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Participates in health care team.
• Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
• Acts as resource to members of the team.
