Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Surgery ICU (CST) in Roanoke, VA. The role is full-time with a night shift and weekend requirements. Relocation assistance is available for qualifying candidates.

The RN will provide skilled nursing care, coordinate treatments, and educate families while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a high-demand cardiovascular unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of professional nursing of an accredited college or program eligible to sit for Virginia licensure.
• Current Virginia RN licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required depending on unit.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across ages to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Complete age-specific assessments and document/adjust care plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with the health care team to develop and revise an age-appropriate interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Administer and document treatments and medications using the EMR system.
• Provide patient/family education and participate in care coordination and improvement activities.
