Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical care under supervision. You will prepare exam rooms, assist physicians, record vital signs, operate equipment, and help with lab testing as required.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; certification as CMA or equivalent is expected. Strong communication and data-entry skills are essential; the job is on-site in New Jersey with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; additional MA program preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse patients.
• Familiarity with computerized processes and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam room, treatment room, supplies and instruments.
• Prepares patients for physician visit and examination assisting as directed.
• Takes patient\'s vital signs and records in medical chart.
• Understands proper function and care of special equipment.
• Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test as indicated after evaluation; may perform UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab testing as indicated after evaluation.
• Maintains records by completing patient records as directed; file records and reports.
• Assists with collections/billing procedures as needed.
• Uses computer software to maintain office systems.
• Identifies and responds to confidentiality issues.
• Assesses patient needs and communicates at appropriate level for age/culture/language.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Lifts minimum 5 lbs., pushes/pulls minimum 10 lbs., stands 6 hours daily.
