Location: Memphis, TN

Position: Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular Surgery - Full-Time

Schedule: Night shift, Monday-Thursday, 7 PM - 7 AM

Primary Responsibilities
  • Facilitate communication between attending physicians, consultants, staff, and nursing, relaying treatment plans and interventions.
  • Perform daily rounds, physical examinations, and follow-up for cardiac surgical patients, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and medications.
  • Respond to acute changes in patient status promptly and appropriately.
  • Gather detailed patient histories, perform physical exams, and present assessments and plans.
  • Coordinate patient discharge processes.
  • Assist in preoperative preparations, including hemodynamic monitoring and procedures like chest tube removal, arterial line placement, and central line placement, within your competency level.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Passing the NCCPA certification exam and current licensure in Tennessee.
  • DEA license or eligibility.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of Physician Assistant experience, but new graduates are welcome.
