The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus invites applications for an Assistant Professor – Cardiac Surgeon. The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic care at the University of Colorado Hospital and affiliated sites in Aurora, CO, including heart and lung transplantation.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required at hire.
• Medical licensure in Colorado or eligibility.
• Board certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
• Experience with aortic surgeries and heart/lung transplantation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient and outpatient cardiothoracic surgeries.
• Lead and participate in aortic program activities and surgeries.
• Perform heart and lung transplantation procedures.
• Rounding, writing orders, and hospital discharge planning.
• Assess patients, educate, coordinate care, and manage disease.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clinic staff.
• Engage in scholarly activities and education of residents and fellows.
