Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, is seeking a full-time Cardiac Surgeon.
Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) and Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, are seeking a full-time cardiac surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate will join a team of 5 cardiac surgeons and over 30 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), contributing to a program performing approximately 1800 cardiac procedures annually.

The new team member should have expertise in a specific area of cardiac surgery, such as transplantation/heart failure, robotics, atrial fibrillation, or complex aortic surgery. While involved in the full spectrum of cardiac surgery, success will be measured by collaboration, program development, and contribution to resident and medical student education. Academic rank and funding will depend on scholarly activity.
Candidates must hold or be eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey, have completed an accredited fellowship or equivalent in CT Surgery, and be Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent.
The successful candidate will be based at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH), the primary teaching hospital for Rutgers-RWJMS, serving over 5 million people. RWJUH is a quaternary care referral center with centers of excellence in cardiovascular care, cancer, stroke, neuroscience, orthopedics, and women’s and children’s health, including the Bristol Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital, CINJ, and a Level 1 Trauma Center.
