Qualifications

  • ACGME Fellowship Training in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Board Certified Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

  • Active, Unrestricted DEA.
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Current certification for durable, implantable ventricular assist device implantation with case logs in the past 12 months.

Position Description

The Heart Institute is expanding and is seeking a Cardiac Surgeon to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery Team. The surgeon will perform foundational cardiac surgery (CABG, open valve repair/replacement, dissections) and will also contribute specialized skills in minimally‑invasive valve surgery, advanced heart failure device implants, and related procedures to advance program growth.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
  • Active, Unrestricted State of Florida Medical License (or ability to obtain before start)
  • Active, Unrestricted DEA

  • Must meet credentialing requirements established by the LMHS Medical Staff Services department
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, basic computer, and customer‑service skills
  • Proficiency in EPIC EHR with Healthcare AI for streamlined charting
