Job summary

Diagnostic Imaging Solutions (DIS), a Catalyst MedTech subsidiary, seeks a Cardiac Stress Technician for Poway, CA. Part-time, day shifts, no nights or weekends, travel to client sites in a company van.

You will prepare patients for stress testing, monitor vitals, and assist with injections and EKG interpretation. Active Paramedic or LPN license with BLS/ACLS is required, plus 1 year of 12-Lead EKG experience and IV work.

Qualifications

• Active Paramedic License OR Licensed Practical Nurse License
• Completion of an accredited emergency care, paramedicine, or nursing program
• Active BLS and ACLS Certification
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with 12-Lead EKG placement and interpretation; I.V. insertion
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for cardiac stress testing procedures.
• Assess patient vital signs.
• Establish I.V. access using aseptic technique.
• Set up and monitor treadmill and pharmacologic stress testing; monitor EKG and patient symptoms.
• Prepare pharmacological stress agents and dose calculations.
• Ensure patient safety and high-quality testing.
• Document test results and medical history in PACS; complete admin docs as needed.
• Initiate BLS/ACLS per protocol under physician supervision.
• Travel to client sites in company van; follow Radiation Safety and DOT regulations.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, Daylight Shift

Responsibilities

• Preparation of patients for cardiac stress testing procedure.
• Assess patient vital signs.
• Establish I.V. access using aseptic technique.
• Set up and monitor patient through treadmill and pharmacologic stress testing including application monitoring of 12 lead EKG and patient symptoms.
• Preparation of pharmacological stress agents, dose calculation and administration.
• Ensure patient safety and provide high quality testing.
• Accurately document patient test results and patient medical history using online PACS system. Additional administrative documentation may be required.
• Initiate BLS and ACLS algorithms to manage patient symptoms in the event of an emergency, under physician supervision.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing consistent and excellent customer service and patient care at all times.
• Travel to client sites as scheduled. Driving company van and following Radiation Safety and DOT regulations for purpose of transporting equipment, medical supplies, radioactive material, and staff to customer site (training provided).
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Paramedic License OR Licensed Practical Nurse License
• Completion of an accredited emergency care, paramedicine, or nursing program
• Active BLS and ACLS Certification
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with 12-Lead EKG Placement and interpretation of rhythms; I.V. insertion
• Ability to push/pull heavy medical equipment as a team
• Ability to assist patients on and off the camera
• Valid Driver’s License

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed at outpatient imaging centers, hospitals, clinics, and/or physician offices with moderate to high patient volume. Team members must travel in all weather conditions in company van.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Walking, stooping, turning, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
