Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Stepdown Unit (3 South) on a full-time basis. Shifts are 3x12 hours, 7 am–7 pm, with rotating weekends. The unit emphasizes cardiac telemetry, post-procedure care, and coordinated patient care in a high-quality environment.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with physicians and the healthcare team, ensuring compassionate, patient-centered outcomes and adherence to clinical protocols.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
• Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with policies and nursing process.
• Conducts thorough patient assessments and documents findings, reporting changes to care team.
• Maintains telemetry monitoring and maintains telemetry data as part of patient care.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects per standards.
• Collaborates with physicians and staff to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions when needed.
• Educates patients and families about conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Ensures infection control protocols are followed and safety practices are observed.
