Job summary

Great Basin College seeks a qualified Cardiac Sonography Instructor and Clinical Coordinator for full-time, 9-month employment across Elko, Pahrump, Fallon, or Reno locations. You will build the cardiac-vascular curriculum, deliver courses, and guide student competency assessments.

The role partners with program leadership to align teaching with JRC-DMS standards, oversee clinical education, and support accreditation activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in cardiac sonography.
• Bachelor’s degree in diagnostic medical sonography, cardiac sonography, or related field.
• Minimum of two years professional clinical experience in cardiac sonography or related area.
• Current RDCS or RCS credentials preferred, with teaching/mentoring experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach sonography courses within the new cardiac-vascular emphasis and oversee didactic, lab, and clinical components.
• Develop and refine curriculum in collaboration with program leadership and dean.
• Translate clinical echocardiography into instructional materials and assessments.
• Evaluate student competencies in anatomy, imaging protocols and Doppler techniques.
• Participate in program planning, accreditation activities, and clinical education experiences.
• Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress and career readiness.
• Engage in program meetings, committees, and additional institutional activities.
