Overview

The Cardiac Sonographer performs echocardiograms of patients' anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. They must demonstrate proficiency in the use of ultrasound equipment to visualize and record quality images of the cardiovascular system, following established guidelines and departmental policies and procedures. Basic Life Support certification is required.

Licensure

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer required.

Education

Graduate in Cardiac Ultrasound or an Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Sonography required.

Experience

1 year of clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
