About Corewell Health Wayne Hospital

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This full-service hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster, and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the CDC to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients.

Position Details

This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credential is required.

Scope of Work
  1. Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including 2D imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode, transesophageal, exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms, saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients.
  2. Instruct medical personnel in the technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology related to cardiac ultrasound.
  3. Mentor or preceptor for other ultrasonographers and students.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound program and/or significant clinical experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years full-time experience in adult cardiac ultrasound procedures.
  • RDCS or CCI certification (both parts passed required).
  • BCLS certification required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Professionalism, excellent communication, team-oriented, flexible, and self-motivated attitude.
