Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasonic procedures in a non-invasive cardiac testing unit. You will work under the direction of a Cardiologist to assess heart function and support clinical decision-making.

The role requires completed Cardiac Sonographer training, eligibility for registry certification, and willingness to travel to satellite locations as needed. Normal day shifts with holiday/weekend rotation are included.

Qualifications

• Completed requirements as a Cardiac Sonographer from an accredited program.
• Eligible to sit for Registered Cardiac Sonographer designation.
• Completed Cardiac Sonographer program and eligible for Registry certification.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer in an established hospital non-invasive cardiac testing unit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for evaluation as prescribed by a physician.
• Requires knowledge and use of highly specialized equipment.

• Location: Henry Ford Hospital Detroit will be the primary location; selected candidate must be able to also travel between satellite locations which include: Fairlane, Pierson/Cottage, Sterling Heights, Second Ave, and Plymouth on an as needed basis.


• Department: Cardiac Non-Invasive


• Schedule: Normal shift hours between 6:00AM and 5:30PM. Must work 2 Holidays a year and work weekends based on department rotation.

Under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for evaluation as prescribed by a physician. Requires knowledge and use of highly specialized equipment.

Qualifications

_ EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:_

• Completed requirements as a Cardiac Sonographer from accredited program.


• Must be eligible to sit for \"Registered\" Cardiac Sonographer designation from national accreditation board.


• Completed Cardiac Sonographer program and eligible for \"Registry\" certification.


• Registered Cardiac Sonographer in an established hospital non-invasive cardiac testing unit, preferred.

_ LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:_

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire.

_ PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:_

• Works in a patient care setting with occasional exposure to unpleasant patient care tasks.


• Daily interaction with family members and staff.


• Extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and the like may be necessary.


• Occasional interaction with disgruntled/unsatisfied patients and families.


• Outside travel to satellite locations as necessary.
