Job summary

Cone Health in Greensboro is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer Non-Registered to perform routine and special cardiac ultrasound exams under close supervision, delivering high-quality studies and patient-centered care.

You will analyze data, communicate findings to reading cardiologists to aid accurate diagnosis, operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, maintain CPR certification, and support safe, efficient workflow in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and ultrasound training required.
• 0-1 year in healthcare experience required.
• Eligible for RDCS by ARDMS or RCS by CCI; must obtain RDCS or RCS within 18 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and special exams with good diagnostic quality per established protocols.

Job description

The Cardiac Sonographer Non-Registered performs various cardiac ultrasound procedures under heavy supervision of department supervisor. The role delivers excellent customer service utilizing Relationship Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues, including all internal and external customers.

Essential Job Function:

• Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols with good diagnostic quality.
• Analyzes test data and accurately communicates findings to reading cardiologists to aid in proper diagnosis and treatment planning and ensure seamless collaboration between the sonographer and cardiologists.
• Operates, troubleshoots, and requests repair of all testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results and promote patient safety and efficient workflow.
• Maintains professional and CPR certification to adhere to industry standards and ensure readiness to respond to any cardiac emergencies that may arise.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, Ultrasound training.

Experience:

• Required: 0-1 years in healthcare.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:

• Required: Eligible for Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Required to obtain RDCS or RCS within 18 months of start date.
