Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com) has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Cardiac Sonographer (Instructor) to join our partner, a respected education institution outside Chicago, IL! This full-time, direct-hire, onsite position offers competitive pay and the chance to support a dedicated faculty and engaged student body!


The Cardiac Sonography (Instructor) will hold a bachelor's degree and certification in Adult Cardiac Sonography. They provide experience in teaching, supervising, and guiding students, with demonstrated hands-on clinical practice in the field.

What You Will Be Doing

  8. Develop a course syllabus that aligns with institutional standards, including objectives, content, and grading criteria.
  9. Prepare instructional materials for lectures, labs, or clinical functions, as appropriate.
  10. Deliver engaging and prepared instruction for all scheduled classes.
  11. Evaluate and provide feedback to students while maintaining clear records of performance and attendance.
  12. Adhere to institutional policies, including grade submission, office hours, and instructional standards for texts, assignments, and grading.
  13. Participate in departmental and institutional assessments of student learning outcomes and surveys.
  14. Serve on departmental and divisional committees, contributing to decision-making processes.
  15. Engage in college-wide activities, including committees and task forces, faculty governance and accreditation efforts, student activities, clubs, or organizations, and community events as agreed with the Dean.
  16. Ensure compliance with all institutional procedures and policies.
  17. Commitment to fostering cultural competence and promoting student growth.
  18. A collaborative and innovative approach to teaching and learning.

What You Have to Offer

  1. Credentialed in Adult Cardiac Sonography: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
  2. Documented experience in supervision, instruction, student evaluation, and educational methods.
  3. A minimum of two years (4000 hours) of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional field.
  4. Experience in college-level teaching.
  5. Experience with online teaching.
  6. Willingness to serve as the academic program director.

Compensation & Additional Details

This onsite, full-time opportunity offers an annual salary of $75-83k DOE in addition to a competitive benefits package including medical, vision, and dental insurance; flexible spending accounts; term life insurance; tuition waivers and reimbursement; retirement plan options; paid holidays; sick days; sabbatical leave; and a four-day summer work week.
