Expected pay for this position is $39.13 - $51.21/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

Weekend Incentive

Employees who participate in the 5/6 program receive a 20% premium on their base pay rate for all hours worked between 7:00 pm Friday and 7:30 am Monday. Other hours worked outside of this weekend time-frame are paid at the regular base rate. PTO and other paid benefit time are also paid at the regular base rate.

OSF will invest in you on day 1! Candidates with 5+ years of direct experience will receive 24 hours of Vacation and Holiday time that will be available for use beginning day 1. This is in addition to our generous time-off benefits.

Shifts will rotate between OSF SFMC and the OSF Cancer Institute. OSF HealthCare Cancer Institute offers patients access to transformative technology, including proton therapy and clinical trials, providing highly personalized and innovative cancer care.

Position Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer II performs and records Echocardiology diagnostic tests independently, following established policies. The role involves obtaining information about normal and abnormal anatomy to assist in diagnosis, ensuring exam quality, and recording results. The candidate must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care across different age groups.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in allied health or bachelor's degree in any major, or completion of an Accredited Sonographer Program.
  • 1 year experience in transthoracic echocardiology.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography from ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer from CCI in one patient population (Adult, Pediatrics, Fetal).
Other Skills/Knowledge:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of growth and development principles and patient needs.
  • Knowledge of echocardiology techniques for independent transthoracic echocardiogram procedures.
  • Analytical ability to recognize abnormalities and adjust equipment settings accordingly.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree in Diagnostic Services.
