UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks a skilled Echocardiography Technician to perform routine and emergency echocardiograms (2D/3D, Doppler) and operate ultrasound equipment across locations. You will document findings and collaborate with cardiology teams to meet patient care needs.

HS diploma and accredited cardiovascular ultrasound program required. Eligible for PSLF, educational assistance, generous PTO, and wellness programs.

Formación

• ARDMS or CCI certification in Echocardiography within 12 months of hire; BLS/ACLS per AHA.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms (2D/3D, Doppler, myocardial mechanics) and operate the ultrasound system.
• Complete accurate documentation and contribute to patient care across locations and schedules.
• Support quality panels and ensure compliance with Echo Quality standards during interviews and onboarding.

Position Overview

Pay range: $29.25 - $47.55 / hour

Shifts: full-time, AM

Job Description

Under close supervision and guidance, to demonstrate proficiency commensurate with basic technical skills. To perform routine and emergency echocardiograms including, but not limited to, 2D, 3D, Doppler, myocardial mechanics, and ultrasound enhancing agents. To proficiently operate diagnostic ultrasound and ancillary equipment. To thoroughly complete appropriate documentation. To provide echocardiography services at all locations and schedules as needed to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound training program preferred. Proof of eligibility to test for RDCS or RCS certification required for new graduates of a sonography program. ARDMS or CCI certification in Echocardiography must be obtained within twelve (12) months from date of hire to position. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA) required. All candidates must successfully complete ultrasound scanning of the heart, subject to approval by the Echo Quality Panel, as part of the interview process.
