Description

Riverside Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Cardiac Sonographer to join our Cardiac Diagnostic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic studies to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. This role requires a deep understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology, as well as the ability to use advanced imaging technology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and continuous learning in a fast-paced healthcare environment. In addition, the Echo Tech may perform 12-lead EKG's, holter monitor hookup, cardiac event monitor hookup, holter monitor scanning and cardiac exercise treadmill testing and assist in procedures.

Essential Duties
  • Perform high-quality echocardiograms, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography, M-mode, 2D, Doppler, and color flow imaging.
  • Accurately obtain and record measurements and images of cardiac structures and function for adults and pediatric patients.
  • Perform stress echocardiography, contrast echocardiography procedures, and assist with transesophageal echocardiography as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret sonographic data.
  • Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Start IVs for imaging procedures.
  • Take call for emergency testing on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Holter Monitor & Event Recorder
  • Apply Holter monitors and event recorders to patients, ensuring proper electrode placement.
  • Educate patients on the use and care of monitoring devices.
  • Maintain equipment, ensuring cleanliness, proper function, and timely replacement of components.
Patient Care
  • Provide compassionate care, ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families about procedures, findings, and follow-up care as needed.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Flexibility
  • Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.
Non-essential Duties
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of supplies related to cardiac sonography, including ordering and restocking as necessary.
Requirements
Required Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and echocardiology interpretive parameters.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac sonography.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Holter monitors and event recorders is highly desirable.
Required Licensure/Education
  • Associate degree in cardiovascular technology, diagnostic medical sonography, or a related field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Current registration as a Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS or RCS) required within 2 - 3 years of hire.
Preferred Education
  • Certification in Holter Monitoring and Event Recorder technology preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support is a plus.
