Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a credentialed echocardiography technologist to perform a range of diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures for adult inpatients and outpatients. Under supervision, you will conduct transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography and ensure high-quality data and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or graduate of an accredited echocardiography program or relevant clinical experience resulting in registry eligibility.
  • Requires ARDMS/RDCS or CCI/RCS accreditation or accreditation eligible and current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures on adult inpatients and outpatients.
  • Perform transthoracic Echo, transesophageal Echo, and stress Echo.
  • Follow department protocols and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Respond to cardiac arrests and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Troubleshoot echocardiography techniques and maintain a safe testing environment.
  • Retrieve and send data using clinical and financial information systems.

Job Description:

New grads welcome! Under the general supervision of the Department Clinical Manager and Lead Sonographer performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures on adult inpatients and outpatients.

These include but are not limited to, Transthoracic Echo, Transesophageal Echo, and Stress Echo.

  • Performs all testing procedures in echocardiography listed in the department protocols.
  • Performs diagnostic exercise/pharmacological stress echocardiograms. In doing so, produces accurate clinical information used by the cardiologist for the diagnosis of cardiac medical disorders.
  • Responsible for responding to cardiac arrests as required.
  • Responsible for participating in the on call rotation
  • Troubleshoots technical methods of echocardiography as necessary.
  • Ensures a safe testing environment in all daily operations.
  • Demonstrates ability to retrieve and send data utilizing the clinical and financial information systems.
  • Understands physician orders and appropriate documentation.
  • Ensures adequate documentation in the medical record, test report according to department policy and procedures.
  • Communicates, orally and in writing, effectively to promote teamwork and team problem solving efforts.
  • Adapts to and works effectively in a variety of situations and settings, for example, special precautions disabled and dialysis patients.
  • Provides explanation of prep for testing procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate degree and/or graduate of an accredited echocardiography program or relevant clinical experience resulting in registry eligibility
  • Licensure, Certification, Registration: Requires ARDMS/RDCS or CCI/RCS accreditation or accreditation eligible and current basic life support (BLS) certification.
Pay Range:

$46.00 - $68.35 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
