Job summary

Northern Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform routine and acute cardiac imaging across multiple care areas. You will operate ultrasound equipment, ensure image quality, and support cardiologists with timely interpretation.

Required qualifications include AMA/JRCERT/SACS accredited program and ARDMS RDCS Echocardiography certification, with CPR current. The role involves teamwork in a busy imaging center and hospital ED, with potential shift variations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved and/or JRCERT and SACS accredited school of Medical Ultrasound Technology
• Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) RDCS - Echocardiography, or by CCI
• Current CPR

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and acute patient care in cardiac ultrasound imaging.
• Operate echocardiography equipment in The Imaging Center, ED, OR, PACU, and bedside settings.
• Assist cardiologists with real-time image interpretation and patient assessment.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an AMA approved and/or JRCERT and SACS accredited school of Medical Ultrasound Technology
• Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) RDCS - Echocardiography, or by CCI
• Current CPR

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered status or experience in Vascular (RVT) and/or Registered status or experience in Abdomen and/or OB/ GYN

Summary

Routine and acute patient care settings using cardiac ultrasonic imaging devices, in restricted areas of The Imaging Center, Emergency Department, Surgical suites, Recovery areas (PACU), Labor and Delivery area, or patient bedside. Exposure to blood and other body emesis-born pathogens. Proficient use of HIS/RIS, PACS, ISCV, and tele-radiology networking. Uses real-time sonographic systems to produce medically useful images of patients’ anatomy for Cardiologist(s) interpretation. Primary patient contact is adult in nature with less than 10% being pediatric. Assesses patient imaging needs for sequencing, equipment selection and settings, and scheduling. As required, assumes responsibility for delegated designated imaging areas within scope of training. Ability to work irregular hours at times, in order to maintain staffing requirements to meet patient care needs, is essential.
