Job summary

ECU Health Physicians is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiographer to operate ultrasound equipment and generate live 2-D and 3-D images of the heart, aiding physicians in diagnosis. The role requires ARDMS or CCI registration, BLS, and eligibility for ECG health credentials.

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS (RDCS or RVT) or CCI (RCS) registration/certification is required.
• For ECU Health Medical Center, registration must be current.
• For ECU Health community hospitals, registration or registry-eligibility with registration obtained within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce 2-D or 3-D cardiac images for diagnosis and assessment.
• Assist physicians in interpreting echocardiographic findings.
• Maintain quality control of imaging equipment and patient safety during procedures.

Position Summary

A Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiographer is a credentialed medical professional with academic and clinical experience to use imaging technology to help physicians diagnose heart problems in patients. They operate ultrasound equipment that provides moving 2-D or 3-D images of the heart and its chambers. The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education, clinical experience and completed ARDMS- RDCS and/or RVT or CCI- RCS registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.

Minimum Requirements

• High school or equivalent (or higher)
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
• For ECU Health Medical Center, current ARDMS (RDCS or RVT) or CCI (RSC) registration/certification is required.
• For ECU Health community hospitals, ARDMS (RDCS or RVT) or CCI (RSC) registration or must be registry eligible with registration obtained within 18 months of date of hire.
• 0 years of experience as Cardiac and/or Vascular Sonographer

Pay Range

$33.08 - $48.22
