Job summary

Endeavor Health in Elmhurst, IL is actively seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for a full-time 40-hour work week.

You will perform 2D echocardiograms, Doppler studies, and stress echocardiograms to support cardiologists, while gathering patient data and ensuring clear communication to reduce anxiety about testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• RDCS or RCS certification within 12 months of start date (ARDMS/CCI).
• Current CPR Certification by AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, obtain two-dimensional ultrasonic images of the heart (2D echocardiograms, 2D Doppler, stress echocardiograms) and assist physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Explain testing purpose/duration to patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Obtain images from patients with complex health issues and precept Echocardiography students.

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.35 - $51.69 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

What you will need:

• Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

• Certifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography or Echo School Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within twelve months of position start date.

  • Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross

What you will do:

Under general supervision, obtains two-dimensional ultrasonic images of the heart including 2D echocardiograms, 2D Doppler echocardiograms, and stress echocardiograms and assists physicians in conducting transesophageal echocardiograms. In doing so, obtains pertinent patient data for interpretation by a board certified cardiologist, explains purpose and duration of testing to the patient in order to allay fears, and provides excellent customer service. Obtains ultrasonic images from patients with complex health issues, and precepts students from the Echocardiography School.
