Job summary

Driscoll Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled echocardiography technologist to support cardiologists with comprehensive cardiac ultrasound procedures in the department.

The role requires ARDMS/RCVT registry or an AA degree, with potential for registry eligibility. The position includes on-call duties and willingness to travel to out-of-town clinics as needed.

Qualifications

  • Registry in Sonography (ARDMS or RCVT) or Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Registered Echo Tech, (ARDMS or CCI) or Registry eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and assists cardiologists with echocardiograms (2-D, M-Mode, TEE, fetal).
  • Prepares an accurate preliminary echocardiogram report for the cardiologist.
  • Maintains supplies and ensures equipment is in good working order.
  • Travels to out-of-town clinics as needed.
  • Rotates 24-hour on-call duties.

General Purpose of Job

To perform and/or assist cardiologists with all cardiac ultrasound procedures done in the department.

  • Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.

  • Performs and assists cardiologists with all echocardiograms (2-D, M-Mode, TEE, Fetal).
  • Prepares an accurate preliminary echocardiogram report for the cardiologist.
  • Maintains an adequate level of supplies in the department.
  • Assures that the equipment is in good working order.
  • Communicates with appropriate personnel regarding department and exams done.
  • Assists the cardiologists as needed.
  • Participates in departmental and hospital wide Process Improvement.
  • Ensures that generic/unit safety measures are met in the department.
  • Travels to out of town clinics as needed.
  • Rotates 24 hour on call duties.

Education and/or Experience
  • Registry in Sonography (ARDMS or RCVT) or Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school one year allowance to obtain registry Certificates, Licenses, Registrations.
  • Registered Echo Tech, (ARDMS or CCI) or Registry eligible BLS (AHA).
