Job summary

Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Cardiac Services Program Coordinator to lead program development within the cardiac service line and influence patient care through collaboration with leaders and hospital councils.

You will ensure evidence-based standards of care, monitor quality and budget, and work with EMS to improve pre-hospital continuity of care, while pursuing education and training initiatives and involvement in clinical trials as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • BSN required; MSN or MBA preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Nevada required.
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with, and knowledge of invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 recent years experience in Cardiac nursing (critical care, cath lab, CV surgery) preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Program Coordinator or Performance Improvement/ Quality Coordinator preferred.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission Core Measure requirements, Chest Pain Center Accreditation requirements preferred.
  • Familiarity with ACC-NCDR Cath/PCI and ICD registries and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Database preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate program development with cardiac service line leaders to achieve objectives, outcomes, and goals.
  • Ensure evidence-based standards of care for cardiac patients per Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee program development, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, patient flow, and performance improvement; manage education and training and marketing communications.
  • Monitor quality performance and, with Director, monitor cost center budget and contracts; supervise support analyst staff.
  • Model nursing process and develop new approaches to evidence-based standards; collaborate with research staff to enroll patients in current trials.
  • Collaborate with EMS and outreach coordinators to improve continuity of care prior to hospital arrival; provide feedback and education to EMS staff; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Under the direction of Director of Quality, share responsibility for coordinating program development in conjunction with cardiac service line leaders to ensure objectives, outcomes, and goals are achieved.
  • Responsible for assuring evidence‑based standards of care for cardiac patients are met as required by The Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies (ie. Chest Pain Center Accreditation).
  • Responsible for program development, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, patient flow, and performance improvement of the service line. In addition, responsible for hospital services utilization, staff and physician education and training, and marketing communications.
  • Monitor the quality performance of the cardiac program staff and physicians and, in conjunction with the Director of Cardiac Cath Lab Services, monitor the cost center budget and contracts, and supervise support analyst staff related to the cardiac service line.
  • Function as a role model in the use of nursing process and develops, introduces, and evaluates new approaches to cardiac evidence‑based standards of care and work closely with the research staff to assess and enroll patient in current clinical trials as applicable.
  • Work with the EMS and outreach coordinators to improve continuity of care prior to hospital arrival and provide feedback and education to EMS staff, and will take on other responsibilities as determined by the Director of Quality for the cardiac programs.
