Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking a Monitor Technician responsible for continuous monitoring, interpretation, and documentation of cardiac rhythms. You will ensure correct telemetry lead placement, analyze rhythms, and record data every 6 hours or as needed, escalating changes to the RN per protocol.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, ECG competency (or completion within 60 days), and BLS certification. Strong attendance and adherence to hospital policies are essential.

Qualifications

• ECG competency assessment passed or available training provided.
• BLS/Health Care provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review patient data to determine baseline rhythm.
• Operate telemetry leads and ensure accurate rhythm analysis.
• Document measurements and interpretations every 6 hours or PRN.
• Notify RN of rhythm changes and escalation per protocol.
• Coordinate initiation/cessation of telemetry with nursing staff.
• Troubleshoot central monitoring system issues and initiate repairs.
