Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Successful completion of a cardiac rhythm course within 3 months of hire.
• Documentation of training as a monitor technician or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Properly prepares, places and maintains telemetry monitoring on patients as ordered.
• Identifies cardiac rhythms and mounts arrhythmia strips with label and interpretation.
• Reports rhythm changes to primary and/or charge nurse.
• Reviews alarms with interdisciplinary team including MDs, nursing staff and therapies.
• Maintains logs and reports for Admission/Discharge and telemetry.
• Gives report to oncoming Telemetry Tech and communicates with nurses.

Education
