Job summary

Guthrie County Hospital seeks a Cardiac Rehabilitation RN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within our cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation program.

You will assess patients, develop individualized plans with the care team, monitor responses during exercise, educate patients and families on heart health, and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.

Experience in cardiac rehab and ACLS/PALS/TNCC preferred; BSN preferred and Iowa RN license required.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred
• Current Iowa RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred

Responsibilities

• Clinical Care & Monitoring: assess vitals, ECG monitoring, exercise tolerance; develop treatment plans with physicians and team.
• Patient Education & Coaching: educate patients/families on cardiac health, medications, nutrition, activity; reinforce safe exercise.
• Program Coordination & Documentation: maintain EHR documentation; track progress; coordinate care transitions; contribute to program protocols.
• Safety & Compliance: ensure CMS/AACVPR/state nursing regulations compliance; perform equipment checks; participate in emergencies.
