Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in the state where you work and reside.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• 2 years of experience in the clinical specialty preferred.
• Professional certification in the field within 2 years if not certified.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assists patients and their families in acquiring clinical information and education.
• Uses teaching-learning theory and lifestyle counseling in patient education.
• Individualizes instructions for patients of all ages, considering culture and learning styles.
• Adheres to Standards of Practice for the specialty and updates educational content.
• Evaluates patient and family response to education and health services.
• Serves as a resource to nursing staff, students, and community.
• Integrates new techniques and evidence-based practices into care.
• Demonstrates strong critical thinking and communication in practice.
• Documents assessments, education, barriers, interventions, and patient responses.
