Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Part Time Exercise Physiologist for Cardiac Rehab. The role focuses on supervised exercise, ECG monitoring, education on cardiac risk factors, and psycho-social support for referred patients.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Exercise Science or related field, with 1–3 years clinical experience; BLS and ACLS within 6 months of hire; ACSM CES/RCEP preferred. Pay is based on a regional range within Baystate Health.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• ACSM CES preferred; ACSM RCEP preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or related field required; Masters preferred; 1–3 years clinical setting outpatient and inpatient.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of inpatients and outpatients referred to cardiac rehabilitation services and assess appropriately for participation in therapies.
• Develop exercise prescriptions and individual treatment plans specific to patient needs including education, exercise, behavior change and counseling.
• Monitoring progress and response to exercise via assessment of blood pressure, ECG, perceived exertion and patient symptoms; direct care accordingly.
• Maintains accurate patient program data and assists in outcomes measurement/management.
• Leads exercise and educational classes.
• Performs duties necessary for other departmental service.
