Job summary

Virtua Health in South Jersey seeks a Cardiopulmonary Rehab Program Assistant to support planning, supervision, and counseling of patients enrolled in rehab services.

Under RN supervision, you will monitor EKG rhythms, tailor exercise plans, maintain patient outcomes data, and contribute to community education initiatives. The role requires a BS in Exercise Physiology, ACLS, and at least one year in rehab settings; benefits are provided for full-time colleagues.

Qualifications

• Preferred minimum of one year’s experience in or internship in Cardiopulmonary Rehab
• BS in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science from an accredited school or university
• ACLS and EKG course completion; ACSM certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, interprets EKG rhythms on telemetry monitor and directs exercise according to prescribed plan.
• Program based on individual strengths, limitations, and goals.
• Maintains current knowledge in exercise physiology and advises staff to optimize program safety.
• Maintains patient outcomes spreadsheet and assists in annual reporting and analysis.
• Collaborates on special tasks such as proposals for auxiliary programs and community education.
• Maintains exercise equipment and assists in training staff in program implementation.
