Job summary

Advocate Health/Cardiology Outpatient Services in North Carolina seeks an Exercise Physiologist to perform and coordinate diagnostic procedures within the Cardiology service line. You will conduct exercise and pharmacological stress tests, assess patient eligibility, verify orders, and ensure safe testing in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology (Master's preferred), ACSM-CEP or eligible, BLS/HCP, and ACLS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology required; Master's preferred.
• ACSM-CEP certification or eligibility to test; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• Experience with stress testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform exercise and/or pharmacological stress testing.
• Assess contraindications and coordinate care with Cardiologist.
• Explain procedures, verify orders, and confirm patient identity.
• Assist with patient transfer and positioning to maximize safety and performance.
• Recognize ECG changes and arrhythmias pre-, during-, post-test.
• Communicate abnormal results to physicians and staff.
• Respond promptly to emergencies as needed.
• Cross-train with related staff when appropriate.
