Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is seeking an experienced Exercise Physiologist II with CCRP or ACSM CEP certification. The role involves educating patients and families, monitoring vitals, and managing complex cardiopulmonary rehab cases.

Work hours are 0630-1730, Monday through Friday, for 36–40 hours per week, with weekends and holidays off. The candidate will develop individualized exercise prescriptions, contribute to educational curricula, and support AACVPR certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CCRP or ACSM CEP certification required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• One year exercise physiology experience required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Monitor and record vital signs, observe changes, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions.
• Use clinical judgment to manage complex health situations and consult with the medical team.
• Develop and implement exercise prescriptions and educational curricula for patients.
• Assist the department leader with AACVPR program certification requirements.
