Job summary

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Cardiac Perfusionist to support open-heart procedures under medical supervision and ensure perfusion equipment is prepared and monitored throughout surgery.

Will consider new graduates from accredited perfusion schools; CCP certification must be obtained within two years from date of hire. Sentara offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Certification in Cardiovascular Perfusion (CCP) or eligibility within two years.
• Registered Nurse with Critical Care, PCU, ER, Cardiac, Stepdown or Recovery Room experience welcomed.
• New graduates from accredited perfusion schools will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare perfusion equipment for surgery and monitor it during procedures.
• Perform pre- and post-operative maintenance on perfusion equipment.
• Compute parameters for surgery to facilitate quality patient care for open heart procedures.
