Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh seeks a Certified Perfusionist to provide circulatory support during open-heart surgery and long-term cardiac/pulmonary support. This is a full-time on-site role with on-call coverage.

Education includes graduation from an accredited Perfusion Technology program and NC perfusion licensure; BLS is required. Compensation reflects experience and is commensurate with hours and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Perfusion Technology.
• Certified Perfusionist or eligible to be certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• BLS required.
• North Carolina Perfusion License or Provisional License required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in open-heart surgery to maintain patient temperatures and pressures.
• Cleans equipment and services malfunctions observed.
• Contributes to quality improvement focusing on customer satisfaction, outcomes, and cost.
• Provides training on ancillary equipment to staff.
• Reviews patient history and data to determine circuit requirements and maintains perfusion records.
• Sets up, processes, and disposes of cell saver supplies for autotransfusion.
