Job summary

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Cardiac Perfusionist to join the team. Under medical supervision, the perfusionist prepares perfusion equipment for open heart surgery, monitors equipment during surgery, and performs pre and post-operative maintenance to facilitate quality patient care for all open heart surgical procedures.

Will consider new graduates from accredited perfusion school; if hired without certification, CCP must be obtained within two years from date of hire.

Qualifications

• Certification in Cardiovascular Perfusion (CCP) - American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
• Will consider new graduates from accredited perfusion school; CCP within two years if hired without certification.
• Registered Nurse with Critical Care, PCU, ER, Cardiac, Stepdown or Recovery Room experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepares perfusion equipment for open heart surgery, under medical supervision.
• Monitors equipment during surgery.
• Performs pre- and post-operative maintenance on perfusion equipment.
• Computes parameters for surgery to facilitate quality patient care.
