Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking an experienced surgical technologist to support the operating room team as a scrub nurse under the circulating nurse. You will perform perioperative tasks for surgical procedures and ensure a sterile field throughout the case.

The role requires either a CST credential with NYS operating room CEU credits or graduation from an approved nursing program with an active NYS license and annual CEUs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CST credential NBSTSA with NYS OR CEU credits.
• LPN with NYS license and OR CEU credits (optional).

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Gathers instruments, supplies and equipment for each case per surgeon's card.
• Maintains sterile field and corrects breaks in sterile technique.
• Passes instruments safely to the surgical team.
• Ensures proper draping, labeling of specimens, and implant checks.
