Responsibilities

• Promotes and maintains positive relationships and patient confidentiality.
• Shows knowledge of diagnostic instrumentation and troubleshooting.
• If cross trained, conducts transtelephonic pacemaker testing with scheduling and billing.
• Maintains CPR certification after orientation; attends in-service education.
• Available to cover subsequent shifts if staffing is inadequate.
• Manages ECG tracing/order matching in computerized systems and uploads to EMR; completes ECG/Holter billing.
• Explains examinations to patients and staff; collects brief history and prepares patients for Holter studies.
• Supports peers and manages daily workload to expedite procedures.
• Cleans equipment daily; stocks supplies and reports needs for service/repair.
• Delivers ECGs and Holter requests; can move ECG machines on carts to different areas.
• Monitors multiple cardiac screens with high accuracy for rhythm changes and alarms.
• If cross trained, scans Holter tapes for dysrhythmia recognition and classification.
