Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Monitor Technician for our full-time night shift. You will provide continuous cardiac monitor observation, detect rhythm patterns, and report findings to nursing and medical staff.

A high school diploma or GED and BLS certification are required, with six months of patient care experience preferred. You will set up ECG monitoring equipment, apply electrodes, record measurements, and assist with interpretation.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED or equivalent education/experience.
• Six months of patient care experience in acute care preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and ensures proper functioning of ECG monitoring equipment.
• Applies electrodes on predetermined positions and checks performance.
• Records and calculates parameters and assists ECG interpretation.
• Monitors patient condition levels and reports changes.
• Responds to emergency situations.
• Maintains logs for equipment malfunctions.
• Performs clerical duties such as answering telephone.
• Participates in orientation and ongoing in-service education.
• Adheres to safety, confidentiality, values, and standards.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
