Minimum Qualifications

Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:

Education: High School Diploma or GED and completion of Cardiac Monitor Technician training course or equivalent coursework (i.e. Electrocardiography course) from an accredited school or accredited online program required.

Licensure/Certification

  • Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred within 1 year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support from a hospital- based American Heart Association

(AHA) or Red Cross approved program.

  • Other certificates as required by unit/service.

Work Experience: One (1) year work experience in patient care or cardiac monitoring/related experience in a hospital preferred.

Equipment Operated: Area-specific.

Skills/Knowledge: Completes CBCOT modules one, two and three within the 6-week orientation.
