Job Summary: The Cardiac Monitor Technician I (CMT I) observes ECG patterns continuously for patients on telemetry. The CMT I alerts nursing staff and physicians about changes from baseline, abnormal rhythms, and ECG interval issues. The role requires proficiency in medical terminology, technical skills, communication, organization, and computer use, along with professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Cardiac Monitor Technician training course or equivalent (e.g., Electrocardiography course) from an accredited program.
• Certification as a Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Cardiographic Technician (CCT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International is preferred within 1 year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an AHA or Red Cross-approved program.
• One year of work experience in patient care or cardiac monitoring is preferred.

Work Requirements:

• Operate area-specific equipment.
• Complete CBCOT modules 1-3 within a 6-week orientation.
• Effective communication skills, especially verbal communication with the public.
• Analytical skills, knowledge of medical terminology, mathematics, and computer proficiency.

Work Schedule: Weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
