Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Technician to provide continuous telemetry monitoring, identify rhythm changes, and support accurate monitoring documentation.

In this role, you will assist with telemetry setup, electrode placement, and coordination with nursing staff, activating Rapid Response or Code Blue protocols when indicated, while contributing to unit initiatives and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Cardiac Monitor Training course or 1 year of experience as an EKG Technician or monitoring cardiac rhythms.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and identify changes or abnormalities.
• Notify nursing staff promptly of rhythm changes, signal loss, or lead disconnection.
• Assist with telemetry setup, electrode placement, lead selection, and battery replacement.
• Interpret EKG rhythms and document atrial and ventricular rates.
• Maintain rhythm strips, monitoring logs, equipment, and supplies.
• Activate Rapid Response or Code Blue protocols when indicated.
• Participate in unit initiatives and quality improvement activities.

Use your cardiac monitoring skills to make a difference in patient care. In this role, you’ll provide continuous telemetry monitoring, recognize and report rhythm changes, assist with equipment and electrode placement, and maintain accurate cardiac monitoring documentation
