Job summary

LCMC Health in Louisiana invites you to join as a Cardiac Monitor Technician. You will provide continuous telemetry monitoring, recognize rhythm changes, assist with equipment and electrode placement, and maintain accurate monitoring documentation.

This night shift role supports patient care across our East Jefferson General Hospital network. The ideal candidate will have a Cardiac Monitor Training course or 1 year of EKG monitoring experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Cardiac Monitor Training completed or 1 year of EKG monitoring experience.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and identify changes or abnormalities.
• Notify nursing staff promptly of rhythm changes, signal loss, or lead disconnection.
• Assist with telemetry setup, electrode placement, lead selection, and battery replacement.
• Interpret EKG rhythms and document atrial and ventricular rates.
• Maintain rhythm strips, monitoring logs, equipment, and supplies.
• Activate Rapid Response or Code Blue protocols when indicated.
• Participate in unit initiatives and quality improvement activities.

In this role, you’ll provide continuous telemetry monitoring, recognize and report rhythm changes, assist with equipment and electrode placement, and maintain accurate cardiac monitoring documentation

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and identify changes or abnormalities.

• Interpret EKG rhythms and document atrial and ventricular rates.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Cardiac Monitor Training course or 1 year of experience as an EKG Technician or monitoring cardiac rhythms.
