Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to perform continuous observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms for cardiology patients under the supervision of the RN. Responsibilities include analyzing ECG rhythms, monitoring central and bedside devices, and maintaining alarms and equipment.

The role requires basic cardiac dysrhythmia training and compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies. Prior experience with telemetry and order entry is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic cardiac dysrhythmia training or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia training course upon hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately analyzes, interprets and records ECG rhythms according to procedure.
• Maintains continuous assessment of ECG rhythm at central monitor and during patient transport.
• Cleans and maintains telemetry monitors/holders and accounts for monitor upon patient discharge.
• Demonstrates knowledge of central station and bedside monitors. Ensures alarms are maintained at appropriate levels and settings.
• Performs other unit specific duties such as video monitoring, order entry and answering phones.
