Job summary

Mayo Career Site UK seeks a Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician to perform surveillance, analysis, and preliminary interpretation of patients' heart rhythms and physiological parameters. You will operate monitoring devices, calibrate equipment, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to identify abnormal responses.

Responsibilities include patient education on procedures and accurate documentation of data and preliminary interpretations in multiple systems.

Qualifications

• Surveillance, analysis, synthesis and preliminary interpretation of heart rhythm patterns.
• Operate monitoring devices and perform equipment calibration.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and communicate abnormal or critical physiological responses.
• Accurately record physiological data and preliminary interpretations in reporting systems.

• Provide surveillance and interpretation of patients' heart rhythm patterns at rest or during exercise.
• Assist with testing/monitoring procedures and ensure proper patient preparation.
• Educate patients on procedures and ensure accurate data entry in reporting systems.

Job description

This position will support the Stress Lab.

The Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician provides surveillance, analysis, synthesis and preliminary interpretation of patients' heart rhythm patterns and physiological parameters while at rest, and/or during exercise and/or in response to medication administration or other impacting procedure. The Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician provides direct patient care for a variety of patient populations. Responsibilities also include a working knowledge of various monitoring/testing devices and systems, equipment calibration, identifying and troubleshooting equipment failures, preparing patients/equipment for testing and/or monitoring, assessing for appropriate type of testing/monitoring, providing patient education on procedures, and accurately recording physiological data and preliminary interpretations in multiple reporting systems. The Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician works in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, communicating abnormal or critical physiological responses and activating medical emergencies response plans.
