Cardiac Interventional Technologist II - PRN

Position Overview

MedStar Health is seeking a PRN Cardiac Intervention Technologist II to join our team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. The role involves performing angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures, and managing patients before, during, and after these procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Administer contrast media into coronary arteries during cardiac catheterization under physician guidance.
  2. Recognize and respond to physiological and electrocardiographic changes, including arrhythmias.
  3. Assist physicians by scrubbing independently and aiding in guide wire and catheter placement.
  4. Maintain supplies, records, and department check sheets; order supplies as needed.
  5. Monitor and record hemodynamic and physiologic data during procedures, including electrophysiology and ablation.
  6. Prepare patients pre-procedure and manage post-procedure care, including site observation and patient discharge instructions.
  7. Operate imaging and emergency equipment safely, responding to emergencies per department policy.
Qualifications
  • Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program (minimum 2 years).
  • At least 2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology or interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization.
  • ARRT certification or registration.
  • Radiology Technologist license in Maryland.
  • ACLS certification or eligibility.
Additional Details
