MedStar Health is looking for a Cardiac Interventional Technologist II to join our team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital.

Schedule: Four 9-hour shifts, 6:30am - 4pm, with weekday and weekend on-call requirements.

The Cardiac Interventional Technologist II will perform angiographic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures, and is responsible for patient management before, during, and after procedures.

Primary Duties

1. Administers contrast media into coronary arteries as directed by a Cardiologist during cardiac catheterization. Recognizes effects of pathology and vital signs to determine injection pressure.
2. Knows normal physiologic and electrocardiographic sequences, recognizes arrhythmias, and provides patient care. Assists physicians with guide wires and catheters, administers contrast media, and maintains patient flow.
3. Maintains supplies, patient records, and department check sheets. Orders supplies, assists with inventory control, and enters data into hospital systems.
4. Performs hemodynamic monitoring, records calculations, and assists with electrophysiology and ablation procedures. Ensures quality patient care and safe operation of equipment. Responds to emergencies per policy.
5. Handles pre- and post-procedure duties, including sterile preparation, patient education, and discharge instructions. Operates imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images.

Qualifications

1. Satisfactory completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program (at least 2 years).
2. 2 years of diagnostic radiology experience.
3. Experience in interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization or equivalent.
4. ARRT certification or registration.
5. Maryland Radiology Technologist license.
6. ACLS certification or eligibility.
