Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks an experienced Registered Nurse II for the 5 West CICU, a 23-bed unit serving cardiac and vascular patients with specialized monitoring and devices. Expect 36 scheduled hours per week with rotating 3-12 hour shifts, including some weekends.

The role requires strong critical care skills and adherence to nursing standards. New hires must hold SC RN licensure, BLS certification, and a BSN within four years if hired with an ADN/diploma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred; RN staff hired after July 1, 2013 must enroll in BSN within 2 years and complete BSN within 4 years
• Current RN licensure in SC or compact state required; BLS certification required
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care in CICU using nursing process
• Support and collaborate with health care team to achieve patient outcomes
• Manage complex cardiac patients including lines, drips, and monitoring as per unit protocol

Education
