Job summary

Texas Health Resources is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Texas Health Dallas. Full-time days, 7A-7P, 36 hours per week with weekend and holiday requirements. The CVICU specializes in advanced Cardiac and Vascular care with a 2:1 staffing ratio and cross‑disciplinary oversight.

Required: Diploma/ADN; BSN preferred; 1 year CCU experience or RN residency; BCLS and ACLS; CPI. LICensure in good standing; open-heart post‑op experience valued.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Nursing or ADN required.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year critical care nursing experience, or completion of an RN residency required.
• Cardiac ICU experience strongly preferred, including open-heart surgery recovery, IABP, Impella, CRRT, and bedside ECMO management.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (Required).
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Required (Expiration date greater than 3 months preferred).
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually within 90 Days Required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
